On the subject:
The state needs money to fulfil its responsibilities. But how much is enough, and which responsibilities are actually necessary?
Competition leads to better products and lower prices. This also applies to locations and framework conditions. That is why tax competition is not harmful, but necessary. Only competition protects citizens from excessive taxation.

However, opinions differ widely on the questions of which tasks actually need to be performed by the state and how taxes should be structured in order to be perceived as „fair“.
What takes precedence: strengthening the competitiveness of one's own economy or being attractive as a business location for taxpayers?
Who decides how taxes are distributed? In Switzerland, thanks to grassroots democracy, most taxes are distributed from the bottom up. In Germany, it's the other way around. Which is the better approach? Make up your own mind.
