In our representative democracy, citizens often experience that their co-determination is neglected. Can referendums help to increase the acceptance of projects and government action?
In Switzerland, referendums have been held at all political levels for centuries. Former Swiss National Councillor Claudio Zanetti shares insights from his experience and explains the impact of referendums on politics and society.
Claudio Zanetti is a Swiss politician. He is a member of the Swiss People's Party and was a member of the National Council from 2015 to 2019. After studying law, he worked as a PR consultant for various companies, including the trade association Verein Schweizerischer Maschinenindustrieller (VSM). He now works as an independent communications consultant.
