Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Speaker: Helmut Seifen, retired headmaster.
Our national symbols – a historical treasure to be cherished
In Germany, more than in any other country in the world, the symbols of national identity are being called into question. The German national flag flying on public buildings competes with the rainbow flag, and time and again voices from the political class are heard calling for our German national anthem to be replaced with other lyrics. In his lecture, the speaker explains why this is fundamentally wrong.
Helmut Seifen, born in 1953. Studied German language and literature, history, philosophy and education in Münster. Subsequently worked as a secondary school teacher of German and history. From June 2017 to May 2022, he was a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia. The conference fee is €15. Registration via https://erasmus-stiftung.de/angebote/
